Naked photo pilot ‘no predator’ ( Are you Kidding me ?)
An international pilot caught taking photos of nude children at Brisbane's South Bank was not a predator, nor were the pictures for his sexual gratification, his lawyer has said.
Perth father Glenn Anthony Armstrong, 48, was suffering from a clinical disorder which caused him to have an unnatural obsession with circumcision, Brisbane District Court was told this morning.
This prompted him to take 10 photographs of three young boys in various states of undress at a swimming lagoon on Australia Day this year.
Armstrong, a former teacher and international pilot for V Australia, today pleaded guilty to three counts of making recordings in breach of privacy.
He was placed on a three-year good behaviour bond.
The court heard a member of the public alerted police Armstrong had been photographing children, and officers found several images of naked children on his camera.
Defence barrister Peter Kelly said a psychologist's report confirmed Armstrong's confession to police that he was "obsessed with circumcision".

Soviet coup leader Yanayev dies
Former Soviet vice-president Gennady Yanayev has died in Russia.
Mr Yanayev was 72 and is said to have been suffering from a serious and long-term illness.
Mr Yanayev briefly declared himself acting president of the Soviet Union during an unsuccessful coup attempt in 1991.
He was arrested three days later but was granted amnesty in 1994.
Mr Yanayev has defended his actions since then, describing himself as a patriot who was trying to save the Soviet Union.
Russia warns of conflict between North, South Korea
Russia warned on Wednesday that "conflict" could break out any day between North and South Korea, saying tension between the two countries was at its worst in a decade.
The unusually stark words by Russian deputy foreign minister Alexei Borodavkin come two months after the North said it would wage a "sacred war" against the United States and its ally, South Korea.
Washington replied that it would not enter a "war of words" with the North.
"The political tension on the Korean Peninsula has reached an extreme level, after which there can be only conflict," the state-run ITAR-TASS news agency quoted Mr Borodavkin as saying.
He said Russia's most important foreign policy task in the region is to ensure conflict does not break out, adding: "It must be noted that responsibility for the situation in the region lies on both North and South Korea."
Though Russia and North Korea were allies in Soviet times, when Russia was a communist state, the North's only major ally today is neighbouring China.
