Cuts in healthcare funding would end medical insurance for 2 million Californians, health officials and patients tell a legislative panel. They say some at-risk residents might not survive the loss of these programs.
US ‘plans cyberspace war command’
Citing Obama Administration sources, the Times said the president would today detail the creation of a White House office that will coordinate a multi-billion-dollar effort to restrict access to government computers, protect systems that run US stock exchanges, clear global banking transactions and manage the air traffic control system.
The Times said said the civilian office would be responsible for coordinating private sector and government defenses against thousands of cyber-attacks mounted every day against the US, largely by hackers but sometimes by foreign governments.
Zombie finds call centres workers mindless.
Having waited on hold for 40 minutes, reanimated corpse Trevor Fleck has slammed call centre workers across the nation, declaring them slack-jawed imitations of humanity with no reasoning power. "All I want to do is cancel my electricity account," he said. "As a zombie, I have no need for warmth or light. Yet these mouth-breathers at Integral Energy can't seem to get that into their thick, delicious frontal lobes."

Iran arrests ‘blood-sucking Satanists’
"One hundred and four members of a Satan-worshipping group were arrested at a party and immoral concert in Shiraz," local Revolutionary Guards chief Abbas Hamidi was quoted as saying by Jam-e Jam newspaper.
"The session was held in a garden outside Shiraz and the Satanist ceremony was broadcast live to the world via the internet," he said, adding the arrest was made by members of the Islamist basij militia linked to the Guards.
"These people drank alcohol, hurt themselves and sucked blood," Mr Hamidi said.
Iranian authorities sometimes link hard rock and heavy metal music and their icons with Satan worship.
North Korea warns of military strike against South Korea
A military statement quoted by official media also said the North could no longer guarantee the safety of shipping off its west coast.
It repeated Pyongyang's position that Seoul's decision to join the US-led Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) is tantamount to a declaration of war.
"Any tiny hostile acts against our republic, including the stopping and searching of our peaceful vessels... will face an immediate and strong military strike in response," the statement said.
"Our military will no longer be bound by the armistice accord as the current US leadership... has drawn the puppets (South Korea) into the PSI," said the statement from the North's military representative at the border truce village of Panmunjom.

So I'm looking at this, and thinking it's a pretty cool idea. Then it hits me, would this not cut down on the light received by photosynthesis using life in the oceans? Isn't that where most of our oxygen comes from that we breath? I'm just posted stuff, please discuss.
